Powering the watch is one of Omega's top-tier caliber 550 movements, one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. Omega's 500 series was one of the finest mass produced automatics from the era.Housing the superb mechanism is a shapely gold-filled and stainless steel case. It is a so-called "Tropical or Hypoallergenic" example with a gold filled top with original stainless steel back. These characteristics make it more skin friendly, as well as much more rugged and durable when worn in warm climates.
Its timeless silver "Explorer" style face has Arabic numerals for the primary hours.
It has fully Omega parts. Its original case is in honest condition and has never been polished. Its silver pearl dial is bright and clean, restored in vintage times.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a new genuine Omega crown. It is keeping accurate time.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Italian leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
